Whether you
are planing a shoot for the whole family or for just one kiddo, please consider
the season in which you want to photograph in and the ages of the kid{s}
involved. Late summer and all of fall is
the busiest time for portrait sessions – please schedule as far in advance as
you can. For photographing little kids,
after newborn pictures, the best time for photos is 6 months/once they can sit.

or making a tradition around doing pictures a certain time of year. We may
start our journey in a newborn nursery, but several years down the road we
could be playing in the backyard on the swing set or cuddling on the couch with
a book. I love unposed candid moments, but realize that everyone appreciates a
good “look and smile” shot too. So, I mix them all together for a memorable
story of our session. Capturing personalities is crucial for me since time is a
thief and kids grow up in the blink of an eye, so there’s always jokes, tickles
and fun activities to help.
